Invitation: V&A Talk 'Untold history of Heels' 31st August - Booking Required

+ Studio Assistant Position Available

Buon Venerdì,

I am happy to invite you to my next V&A Talk and UPO activation:

31st August 2-4 pm

Stomping across centuries and stepping into the V&A museum’s footwear collection, throughout the day they will explore gender, sexuality, power and social status.

Posing questions such as: Are heeled shoes a feminine item? What does masculine mean? What has been the role of heels throughout time? And what is their role now?

UPOs, the acronym of Unidentified Performing Objects, are Luca Bosani’s signature wearable artworks that reject categorisation and sit in between definitions; ever-changing, fluid and queer they aim to transform both the wearer and the viewer.

Schedule of the day:

  • (14:00 – 14:15 )The lecture with Luca Bosani and Will Ballantyne-Reid will take place in the Hochhauser Auditorium

  • (14:15 – 15:00) Followed by a Q&A  and in-conversation with Curator and Historian in queer experience/theory, Will Ballantyne- Reid

  • (15:00 – 15:15) Performance Activation wearing UPOs with Conn Williams and Rafael Escardo Espejo

  • (15:15 – 16:00) Visit Luca Bosani’s Residency studio
